BEGINNER OUTLINE: 'Teach me Right'
No partner or previous dance experience is required. An even partner balance
is enrolled. Systematic partner switches occur about every 5 mins, every class.
There are 3 rotating curriculums per year, totalling 27 Salsa and 10 Merengue
steps in Susana's beginner syllabus. That's at least 10 new patterns per course,
besides the basics covered at the start of every course. We always cover both L.A.
Style Salsa (popular in Vancouver) and Colombian Style Salsa (the South American way).
Each week builds on the next. We review the previous week's class, and almost always manage
to cover new steps too. By taking a thorough approach to the fundamentals,
students can relax and start to feel things flow. Newcomers are pleasantly surprised how much they
learn as they go.
By the end of the 10 classes, students have a useable vocabulary of
underarm turns and variations. Followers learn the principles
of following any style of Salsa. All steps are 100% leadable.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED: 'Challenge Me'
Prerequisite: Beginner Salsa. There are countless steps in Susana's intermediate/advanced
syllabus which she's condensed into 8 distinct and exciting courses (10 classes each). Designed to familiarize
students with the techniques behind a vast array of Salsa steps seen on dance floors, courses cover
L.A. style, Colombian style and Cuban style steps. The 8 curriculums are rotated, offering students new material each season they attend.
Once admitted to this level, students tend to keep returning for the fun, friends and learning. The instruction is always top notch.
A strong grasp of rhythm is absolutely essential. Even intermediates with confident rhythm will be challenged by new effects and more complex
patterns that involve cross-body leads, spins, travelling basics, travelling turns, and more.
All steps are 100% leadable.

I am of Salvadorean background and was looking for a
way to teach my husband how to dance Salsa. Susana's Classes are fun, animated and a great workout. She also teaches the kind of
Salsa I want my husband to learn -- authentic Salsa.
